Then start with the basic photography course from BeeldCentrum. This training consists of five days of lessons.

Contents of the Basic Photography Course
During the basic photography course, you will be introduced to the principles of photography. This is the starting point if you want to learn more about photography. But also the first step towards a career as a professional photographer.
The course consists of five days of lessons. You will be introduced to:
- apertures,
- ISO value,
- shutter speeds,
- depth of field,
- focal lengths,
- effect of the flash and
- the operation of your camera.
During this photography course you will learn to master the basic techniques. But it does not stop at expanding your technical knowledge! Photography is looking and seeing, playing with light and shapes. The course is also intended to develop your sense of image, improve your sense of composition and to learn from the work of other photographers.
You will be introduced to various genres in photography such as:
- portrait photography,
- landscape photography and
- reportage photography.
Can you successfully complete the Basic Photography Course? Then you will receive a certificate and you can continue to the Professional Photography Course.
The Professional Photography Course in English will start in 2026.
Basis Photography Course
Additional information- Lesson times: 10:00 – 16:30 (including a half-hour break).
- Equipment: Digital SLR camera or a mirroless camera with manual setting.
- Study load: approximately. 8 hours per week including the course days.
- Including study material (excluding recommended, non-compulsory literature)
- Group: max. 10 people per group.
- Location: Zoetermeer (near The Hague).
- Do you want to start with the basic photography course and are you unable to attend a lesson day? Then you can take the lesson with another group in consultation.

What does a lesson day look like?
The lessons are given at our location in Zoetermeer. We start at 10:00, have a half-hour lunch break and end at 16:30.
The group consists of a maximum of 10 people. So there is a lot of room for personal guidance!
Make sure you have a digital SLR camera or mirrorless camera with manual setting with you. During the training you will immediately put the theory you learn into practice. We will take pictures in the area around the lesson location. For assignments we can go to other locations.
The study load is approximately 8 hours per week. This includes the course day.
Do you want to start with the basic photography course and are you unable to attend a lesson day? Then you can take the lesson with another group in consultation.

Ready to become a professional photographer?
Photography is more than just taking a picture. Photography is communicating with images. A good photo tells a story or conveys a message. During our Professional Photography Course, you will learn more about image communication and how to apply it. You will also learn how to use photo editing programs such as Photoshop and Lightroom. Your technical knowledge and skills will grow to a professional level.
